A condominium project I'm currently building in SketchUp for a local firm.

Great Room Rendering

A recent interior project required some visualization prior to beginning the working drawings.  I was able to complete the rendering below in about 10 hours.  The view represents a proposed Great Room interior at 1:00pm on July 1st in Ann Arbor - prior to adding interior lighting.

Enhanced visualization - an advantage of BIM

A typical "cut-away" view of a 3D BIM model can greatly assist in understanding the design

Exact materials can be applied and reviewed

Every joist and stud can be counted for cost estimating

Jan. 12 visit - just prior to occupancy permit

The utility room and o.h. door was changed to be a usable space w/sliding door.

The sliding (mirrored) doors help create a spacious corridor back to the bedrooms.

Lots of pantry space, and two fridges to handle the appetites!

hmm... this could have used some more attention...

best window view in the house... of the Sisters' motherhouse.

Apparently, the half-walls & columns met the budget axe.

...i wold have placed a hard cushion there, but, maybe it'll work as something else?

Tons of room downstairs... plans for carpet tiles and a lay-in ceiling.

December visit

The heat is on indoors, and the finish guys are working as fast as they can doing everything from the oak flooring and cabinets to the tile-work and trim.  Here are some shots of today's visit...

Hopefully we'll get some stained glass designed for the circular lite.

We wanted to save that tree... I think we did it.

Some pea gravel missing below, but looks like it'll fit a Weber E-320 nicely.

Ahh... the trim guys.

The kitchen gets an oak floor as well.

This bedroom has a view of the convent bell tower in the background.

Stamped concrete and some landscaping to hold back that slope... i hope.

Exterior brick complete

The brick-layer was a pro.  Look at that walking soldier course.

Shutters will make those expensive windows appear a bit bigger, later.

Landscaping is a separate bid.  Should be fun.

The Motherhouse can be seen in the distance.  Tree saved... so far.

Here's how that egress window corner condition was resolved. (by a pro!)

Should end up being a nice patio area. 

FYI... the brick is called: "Cob Set" (w/ no black bricks) from Brick Tech Architectural

Because of the ICF brick ledge, it looks like we'll have brick under the driveway at the garage doors

I wish those window wells were in already - there's mud in the basement

That's gonna be an interesting corner to brick-up.

Metal stud framing for the basement suite.  Overall, a very clean construction site.

Metal studs throughout, wood studs at the jambs.  A bit of the chapel sloped ceiling visible.

Good to see the plans are still being used!   :-)     Pocket doors on sides, into kitchen.

I was glad to provide the builder a 3D rendering for his really nice sign.
